Over here in the UK they are playing the one about 'girls in their summer clothes' alot, which I like, and do believe is called 'girls in their summer clothes', but I've heard a couple of other songs (i should call them tracks shouldn't I? It seems everybody calls songs 'tracks' these days) and they sound like good old springsteen, which in general I haven't liked. Having said that I bought Devils an Dust, which was one of those spur of the moment buys, made me feel all grown up for some reason, and its brilliant - even the porno song, but the title track is outstanding - I think its the cellos that do it for me. Sounds like he'd been listening to a bit of steve earle and thought, hang on, I can do that, and indeed he can. top stuff. As for the E street band, I think I prefer that bloke when he's in the sopranos. Was it a completely different set, without killing moon/cutter etc or the usual core with a load of different stuff around it? Whats the new stuff like? I'd admit to having the odd moan about the set (and thats the reason initially I decided not to hike a whole 150 miles up north this year - why people will come all the way from the states to see em is beyond me - no offence intended there) but have come to the conclusion I've seen them too often. I dont get why they don't push recent stuff more, most of it sounds really good live but they seem rooted in the past - with perhaps the exception of stormy weather & nothing lasts forever which seem to have stood the test of time compared to the rest of the post reformation material. pete > From: shaz@eatb.freeserve.co.uk > To: seven-seas@smoe.org > Subject: Re: seven-seas liverpool gigs?? > Date: Thu, 13 Dec 2007 21:22:07 +0000 > > yeah both good shows but totally different in more than just the set list, > the whole atmosphere was different > on Sunday > > That idiot really did ruin the atmosphere for Ocean Rain and I'm glad Ian is > still passionate enough to let it > bother him... > > Red's already told the guy what she thinks of him!! :-) > > It's funny everyone moans that they don't change the set list and then when > they don't do Ocean Rain > at the end everyone is disapointed and hopeful they would do it Sunday. > Well we nearly got it but....... :-( > > Crocodiles on Sat was excellent and Over the Wall too.
