I have a 7 inch from 1997 by an Ohio band called Ether Net. They did a really cool version of Lips! It was backed by another band called Cobra Verde doing a cover of Julian Cope's 'The Great Dominions'. Both sides of the sleeve are b/w photos of the bands mocking the original album covers...the gray album and Cope's album. The label is Car Crash Records and it's written in the same lettering style as Korova was when it had the orange lettering. (only Car Crash is in yellow, not orange) It's really quite a cool piece of vinyl! My first Glasto was 25 years ago and every year has specific memories despite how the event has changed. I'm making no real plans this year apart from The Hours, and I'm told the Arcade Fire and Manics. Apart from that, I'll ending up doing whatever.. A good friend runs backstage hospitality at the John Peel stage so we'll be spending a fair amount of time back there again as we did in 95.. Clean toilets, draught Guinness.. Why would they devote the limited time available in TV segment to basically pretend to be the bunnymen for 5 minutes? Have they no songs of their own? They should have at least footnoted the authors at the start of the song. Am I just evolving into a hopelessly crotchety old bastard or what?
