We all have off days obviously but when I saw them relatively recently at that weird little seaside town venue in Cumbria, the name of which escapes me, Mac was imperiously blob on. I agree, though, when you listen to Ocean Rain it really is Ian McCulloch in his purple-patched pomp. I think anybody could be forgiven the bombast to be in that time and place with a voice as majestic as that. I can't think of any singer around these days with pipes quite like that. (Sorry if I'm saying something good about Mac I know that's rather uncool on here.) Probably not. Jarv's missus and brother-in-law are in it and they often play a blinding version of Paranoid. Plus a bit of Nirvana All Apologies at the end of set but the least said about that the better. Visiting Rajasthani sitar maestro Vikas Gupta and tablist Shahbaz Hussein were 'supporting' Stunt Kites that strange night at Sheffield HUBS in December 2005. A soiree of Stella filled insanity. By the way Joe McKechnie (aka The Mindwinder / DJ Tempest) has done a brilliant remix of Vikas Gupta's Jhor Jhalla (off his debut record A Journey). I hope it eventually sees the light of day somewhere, it's just about the trippiest thing I've ever heard in my two score years of sorry-arsed existence. The record label Sense were a bit sniffy about it but I that's all the more reason to like it. http://cdbaby.com/cd/vikasgupta PS: Just thinking back nostalgically to the days when Frank Coleman was head honcho of bunnymen.com I used to really enjoy checking out the site in those days it was somehow far more bunnymen. ******************************** Date: Fri, 23 Feb 2007 22:04:57 -0000 From: "Shaz" Subject: Re: seven-seas test No but he did Paranoid by Black Sabbath which went down well.
