Now for a way out question: I remember when i was in kindergarten I used to flip on the record player after school and alternate playing my uncle's 45s. One was Uncle Albert (is that the title? the p mccartney thing and the other was that sappy terry jacks seasons in the sun. What is really freaking me out is that 25 years later I think I remember seeing a name like Brel on the Terry Jacks song. Might seem crazy, but was that a Brel cover? I've scoured the net but not much Brel stuff because the family has shut down almost everything - ----- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe seven-seas or unsubscribe seven-seas-digest to get off the digest Will the last one to leave the list please turn out the lights? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 Dec 2000 12:18:34 +0100 From: "hooijmans" Subject: Re: seven-seas ot marc almond/Brel/ That certainly is a Brel song: Le Moribond (the french title for Seasons in the Sun) You should check out Scott Walkers cd "sings Jacques Brel". That's the saddest fucking song there is. I *still* can't listen to it. :-( My father died when I was 13. I'm not exactly sure when that song came out, but it must've been somewhere around that time or shortly afterwards, because they played it on the radio all the time. I used to cry my eyes out when I would hear it. Even to this day, if I'm in public when it comes on the radio... and I can't leave the room...I have to somehow try to ignore it, because if I hear that one verse...I'll cry. I know that might sound silly, but, pretend you're a little girl whose father just died and try to listen to that song. :-( Red (who's now blue) - ----- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe seven-seas or unsubscribe seven-seas-digest to get off the digest Will the last one to leave the list please turn out the lights? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 Dec 2000 14:51:34 EST From: Galaimpter@aol.com Subject: Re: seven-seas ot marc almond/Brel/ In a message dated 12/31/2000 6:59:21 AM Pacific Standard Time, redhead@sunlink.net writes: << I know that might sound silly, >> not a bit... of all groups, a couple kingston trio songs hit me almost as hard. music is like a bookmark- very powerful welp off (against my will) to palm springs for 2001, maybe I'll see Robert Downey? happy space odyssey 2001! - ----- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe seven-seas or unsubscribe seven-seas-digest to get off the digest Will the last one to leave the list please turn out the lights? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 Dec 2000 18:30:30 EST From: Galaimpter@aol.com Subject: seven-seas OT: if any wall of voodoo/marc moreland fans I just got an e-mail about marc moreland.
