I don't think there's a question regarding who polices the notice board on the website. Although the two can be linked by subject, is it really fair to load another responsibility ( over which the guy has no real control ) onto the webmaster? I'm only saying this cus I wouldn't do it under these circumstances, and Ivan's probably got enough on his plate. So... what if Jason starts a discussion that Ivan ( rightly or wrongly ) may see as one to be "taken outside". Interesting stuff eh ?? Jason is also, like me and probably like most of you, a very busy person. Since I was pretty interactive on a daily basis with the flow of the list, I always figured it made sense that I would be sort of the "first line of defense" in any squabbles that came up. Don't think of it as being a policeman, think of it as being the host of a large, ongoing virtual cocktail party (albeit one where everybody is blindfolded). There have been a few occasions, thankfully not many, where Jason has had to step in and give some people the boot, and he has shown no hesitation in doing so if the situation called for it. I assume he, like me, reads as much as he can of the list, even if time does not always permit writing back. There's no stepping on toes here. We seem to share the burden in a fairly laissez-faire fashion. So here's the way I see it at the moment: Ivan's got the wheel. I'm in the passenger seat with the binoculars Jason's in the back with the riding crop. so (ahem) Get in the Car.... ;) be seeing you, Supervisor - ----- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe seven-seas or unsubscribe seven-seas-digest to get off the digest Will the last one to leave the list please turn out the lights? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Dec 2000 19:43:23 -0000 From: "Stuart Bird" Subject: Re: seven-seas Roles & responsibilities (was:(From Ivan) A few (humble) words, if Imight...(yes, I've re-subbed) Thanks guys...... However, when those covers are Tim Hardin's "Hang Onto A Dream" and Dylan's "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue"(both awesome adaptations)and with "All My Colours" and "Silver" in the running order there's every cause to celebrate the Bunnymen's slight return.
