I have my original vinyl album covers that I was considering having framed, however, it looks like an album cover in a frame and not like a fancy picture. I had a couple of these album covers scanned at a studio here in Chicago and then printed on glossy paper, those looked pretty good but they also picked up any imperfections on the album cover and transformed them onto the photo. So here is my question... Anyone have any success in obtaining a quality photo like finish from an album cover or anyone know of where one can purchase a photo like presentation of the album covers? Forget about blowing up a CD insert - the resolution on these inserts is to low for the finish I'm trying to obtain. What I'm really trying to get here is something of exceptional quality - like a photo more then a scan of something - a conversation piece. Like my way of saying, "This is my favorite band." The original pictures and/or negatives HAVE to be somewhere and I think I am not the only one who would like something like this? There are some inexpensive ones for around $9 and there are some nicer ones, with either a black finish or a silver finish for around $14. The less expensive ones I've seen at a place called "The Container Store" and the nicer ones I've seen at retro furniture/accessories store called "Restoration Hardware." I don't know if you can find these stores where you live, but at least now you know that the frames are out there. I've got a couple, one of which displays my OCEANRAIN album. I actually had a friend blow up the Grey Album cover and I had that framed. It actually looks pretty decent.
