Bunnymen fans should know that "Pictures On My Wall" was the first single ever from the Bunnymen and the current Bunnymen icon is from that single. Any Bunnymen bios should have included the story of how the picture came about. The song was done with the original Echo machine on percussion. It's fairly well known that Balfe and Drummond pressed some thousands of the singles and took them to record stores in London to sell them. It was single of the week for NME. One time I said to Mac: "I don't like your pictures." and he said, "yeah, I don't like it myself, we don't play it now." That was back in 1981. He obviously mistook my opinions of his looks to my opinion on the song. I kinda realise they never play that song live ever. But playing the song myself pumps me up. I like it. When I play it, friends tend to say: "wow, that's a great song." Guys, try playing acoustic with it. It was reissued as a bonus single for "Songs To Learn And Sing" compilation, and both the early tapes and CDs of that album came with the extra songs "Picture On My Wall"/"Read It In Books" and more. Let me tell you about some of my rare collections that some of you guys can look out for: these are not easy to get anymore. The captioned single, The Puppet Single, Shine So Hard cassette single. My copy of "Crocodile" LP include the extra single "Read It In Books/Do It Clean". I never had the "Rescue" single.
