They really leather it. Like each show is their last. Mind you I've only seen them once so far but that's the impression that came across to me. Yes, I think they played a Town Called Malice last Saturday at The Zanzibar! Love Ian Prowse's lyrics - inspirational, observational, sometimes humourous with a bit of politics thrown in but without being in your face or gratuitous about it. He covers a lot in each song. 'Does This Train Stop On Merseyside' for example ranges across such diverse topics as Hillsborough, the Jamie Bulger murder, the Irish famine, the Liverpool slave trade, cheap air flights and life today on Merseyside... Also read a couple of his poems recently - inspiring stuff. http://www.gigwise.com/Bands_BandCard.asp?BandID=1232 >Date: Mon, 12 Jun 2006 22:41:41 +0100 (BST) >From: Stu Bird >Subject: Re: seven-seas amsterdam play wirral 29th june > >Just like to add some weight to Peter's comments. >I've seen Amsterdam numerous times over the last few >years and they are always great live. >I'm not convinced that their album shows them in their >best light, but the live set is worth every penny.. >Even the dodgy cover of The Jam's Town Called Malice!! ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * ====================================================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V5 #144 ********************************
