Loved the dark lighting and smoke, just like old times. Great seeing everyone before and chatting to Will, what a nice fella he is. Couldn't talk him into adding Zephyr to setlist though! Anyone notice few lyrics from Ceremony? For any Tindersticks fans - Stuart Staples was excellent the other night. Two other members of old band and music not much different, more upbeat if anything. Lightning Seeds - great show last night in a great little venue (Dingwalls). Finished with 3 Lions which has got me more in the mood now for the World Cup. Rooney's gonna get ya! Great to see y'all on Sunday after all this time. My thoughts on the gig... and it's 7:30 a.m. so apologies if not totally lucent! I have to say I was almost reluctant to leave home on sunday to travel to London after previously saying I'd never go to another bunnymen gig. As you know, I thought the Royal Court gig was rubbish and Mac's performance at Glasto is best forgotten about! [It was actually the Paradisio gig video on the web that influenced me to take a chance on a ticket]. Anyway, I thought it was pretty damn good, all in all. As Raj said, when Mac can actualy be bothered, it makes a world of difference. We all know Mac's voice is pretty shot these days but he did make an effort and actually sang all the words. I noted he wasn't wiggling around much and [thankfully] not playing ''burning fag butt football'', in fact, the way he mostly just hung on the mike in a very Andrew Eldritch fashion! Sad that there was no 'With A Hip' or 'Rescue' but 'Show Of Strength' and 'Going Up' were awesome and to hear 'Do It Clean' in its original short 7 inch punk power pop style was worth the ticket money alone. I though the gig lost momentum in the middle but picked up again towards the end, personally I'd prefer not to hear 'Dancing Horses' and 'Never Stop', but that's my opinion! I also wish Mac would forget about doing 'Roadhouse Blues' - he never does it justice [Ian McNabb, on the other hand, can]. Rousing version of 'Waiting For My Man' as an encore, Mac actually playing a guitar [something he should do more of as he's a great rhythm guitarist]. Nice to speak to Will properly this time, last time was LIPA and I was wasted and just embarrassed myself when I was introduced to him in the Magnet Bar! Must do some work now. Steve G. p.s. Gregorian chants, clouds of smoke, band silhouetted by strobes in a line on a stage, I almost thought it was '82 again! - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shaz" To: Sent: Tuesday, June 06, 2006 11:27 PM Subject: Re: seven-seas bunny tour KOKO sunday > Good to see you in London...... > > Any thoughts on the gig....?? ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * ====================================================================== ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * ====================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 8 Jun 2006 16:00:12 -0700 From: "Charles Pham" Subject: seven-seas Re: [villiers-terrace] Late Late Show vs. X-Fest?
