Any US mates catch the crazy Braves @ Cubs game yesterday? Seems Dogers @ Braves today is going the same way, currently 8 - 6 in LA's favour. Having spent the past 20 years as a "rock critic" I can assure you that it's ALL bullshit. You like what you like, or dislike what you don't prefer, and make up all these mad reasons why you think it might strike you that way. Which isn't to say it's illeligitimate--but it's only one person's taste, always, no exceptions. Ultimately, if you hear a record and it does something good for ya, then, for that moment, it's a good record. It's all fluid, there's no fixed state, no "good" or "bad" anything--there's just things that are pleasurable at that point in time, or things that aren't. A Jack Daniels is great at 9PM. At 9AM, it's "you gotta be kidding." I hate "Fame" as well. But I love "The Jean Genie." The lyics are mad and weird. - --C.
