Here is what the Glasgow Daily Record has to say about it: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/tm_objectid=16633138&method=full&siteid=66 633&headline=echo-of-a-great-with-prototypes--name_page.html Daily Record NEWS 27 January 2006 ECHO OF A GREAT WITH PROTOTYPES Exclusive By John Dingwall NEVER in his wildest dreams did Antony Cherrie think he'd share a stage with his idol, Echo & The Bunnymen's Ian McCulloch. But tonight that's exactly what the Scots rocker will doing at Glasgow's famous King Tut's - because Ian is an honorary member of Antony's band The Prototypes. Fellow Scots music maker John McLaughlin introduced McCulloch to the band during a recording session at Simon Perry's studio after learning they had been influenced by his work. McCulloch was so impressed he starting writing with the band - now he and Scots Bunnymen guitarist Gordon Goudie will help the band showcase those songs tonight. The buzz is so good, both UK and US record label staff will be in the crowd, as will the management company behind The Killers. Last night, Antony, of Edinburgh, admitted he was trying not to think about the level of interest. He said: "I am a huge fan of Echo & The Bunnymen. "Amazingly, it looks as if Ian and Gordon will be performing with us on the song Everlasting - knowing how unpredictable he is it is impossible to say what'll happen. "We have people coming over to check out the gig so we have to be on-form. I'm trying not to think of it as a showcase because that'll be added pressure but I suppose it will add to the intensity of the shows." Perry - who produced the band's recorded material and co-wrote some songs with them and Ian - added: "It's pretty amazing for a band to get a contingent from America in this day and age. It's going to be an amazing night." ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://www.villiersterrace.com * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 * ====================================================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V5 #19 *******************************
