EATB Siberia (a great overlooked album from my fave band and they were the best I've seen them live this year!). Bloc Party Silent Alarm (reminds me in some ways of HUH!! Lots going on but sounds like they are all on the same wavelength). Cat Power Moon Pix (simple, raw and powerful) Ravonettes Pretty in Black (love that guitar sound). Rufus Wainwright Want One (fantastic arrangements, love the voice, but I don't think I like Want Two...) Dead 60's They were great live, I love the dub stuff!! I Am Kloot Gods and Monsters (more good stuff from them). Kaiser Chiefs Employment - What a great album, so much better than Franz Boringland! Lyrics make me smile and the music is good, they're great live (only seen them on tv but they look like they would be a lot of fun to see) Anyone see Ade Edmondson get up and sing with them on the Jools Holland NYE show - hilarious!! Marc Almond was great that night too - great voice! Looking forward to hearing more from Artic Monkeys and I wanna get the new Strokes album - liked them before but didn't think they were as good as they were hyped up to be. I think the hype would be deserved now I've heard the latest stuff! Coldplay X&Y I love Speed of Sound and Talk has got to be one of my faves of 2005. Dakota by Stereophonics was the only track I downloaded as a single track. Gigs - EATB Dec 16th Carling Academy Liverpool - Stunning! Editors Joiners, Southampton - Electric!!! Wedgewood Rooms - Excellent. Dead 60's Porcupine Tree Motorhead - Loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Roddy Frame Brighton - bloody lovely. What a sweet man. Books Urban Grimshaw and the Shed Crew - all about the life of some kids on the streets and in care in Sheffield. Shocking honest and touching. Louis Theroux - The Call of the Weird - I haven't read it all yet but it's an eye opener about people on the edges of society.
