To me, though, his music certainly had little/nothing to do with rock and roll (his and Fabian's, etc. almost devoured it in its infancy) and, in my opionion, his relevance to this list is akin to that of, say, Kenny Rogers or Dan Fogelberg. The fact that I personally find his music reprehensible whitebread creampuffery and I think his sons Gunner and Yahoo (or whatever) are a coupla yodeling rodeo clowns continuing that tradition is purely subjective.
