They look like a cool psychedelic band, but I could do that without good music. I'm with Red, if they suck in LA, it's extra drinks in Orange County and San Diego. What about the Radiohead comparisons, and the fact that Stereolab's producer mixed their album? No good? I'll have 3 chances to catch them...if they stink the first time around......then it'll be longer drinks for me too! ;-) Red ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://www.villiersterrace.com * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 * ====================================================================== ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://www.villiersterrace.com * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 * ====================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Oct 2005 11:25:03 -0400 From: Rob Maher Subject: Re: seven-seas Glasgow setlist! That's a good point Ted. I am personally still a little shocked at just how good I think Siberia is. Unlike the last couple albums, I think there is a really good case to play at least a couple more of those new songs than they are doing in that list. I still find myself rockin to this album almost every day. Its been a long time since I was this excited about any new album, and I'm surprised at how much I want to keep hearing it. This may sound a little surprising (even to myself), but I would really like to hear a couple more songs from Siberia in place of a couple of the ole (semi) standards on this tour. These new songs boom with a spirit of renewed confidence and the grove of high creation, I say: Let Them Live! (a little more). When I saw REM last year they really featured their new record, you got the sense they were saying, this is where we are at, its our most recent signpost ,& we are proud of both the road we have taken to get here & the new songs that represent our most recent life as a band together & we're gonna celebrate both with equal passion and attention. But after a playing a few of the new songs Stipe said : "You have indulged us, now we will indulge you" & burst into "The One I Love". I thought this was great. REM have always been a band that really give you the sense that they truly believe that they are still deeply involved at the highest level of their creation and that they are engaging into an act of sublime discovery with each new record, that their art has only revealed an unknown fraction of its possibilities & that they are completely committed to and locked in wonder within the gestating arc of their vision. I feel that Siberia could be celebrated on tour in a similar way. I think they are very close here, maybe a couple more new songs would do it. I think you just gotta hear new stuff like: All Because Of You Days, Parthenon Drive & Everything Kills You in the mix, so hopefully, we will! For this tour I think a perfect vibe would be to call back to an old approach & open with Over The Wall, then go into 3-4 of the new songs, that would really announce themselves as STILL the greatest band in the world, not that the present set doesn9t, but would really do so with bold exclamation. Ted Also & after all that....gotta have have Seven Seas in there tho. on 10/25/05 8:03 PM, Red at redhead@sunlink.net wrote: > Someone posted this on the forum....... > > Looks excellent!!!!
