Siberia is full of happy pop rock tunes suitable for listening to on a quite afternoon. Opening track "Stormy Weather" is one of the best tracks which are based around the question "How's The Stormy Weather Now?" which draws in the listener. "All Because You Days" has twinkley guitars which build up through the song and swells up for a nice finale remincent of a U2 song, appropriate given the name of the song! I think it is the highlight of the album and at 5.54 minutes long it certainly the most epic. Siberia is also a highlight of the album which ends in a high guitar solo right at the end. The vocals throughout the album are all consistent and complement the album well. For the last track - "What If We Are" sees Echo drop their guitars in favor of a piano for a slow song which asks "Ever Hit Rock Bottom?" It is a good track to end on as it is a different pace entirely to the rest of Siberia but is still a great song in itself, a nice love song. The guitars kick in half way through its 5.09 duration which adds to the songs layers. Overall the album is a great return from the band. I saw them at Wireless Festival this year and they were one of the stand out bands of the day and this album backs up the fact they still know how to write decent songs. Now unless those of us going on the Friday are getting the same deal, I feel a bit pissed off about this. It would have been nice if they announced what the deal is with the Friday show with the e-mail. What next? I guess we'll be getting the "extra bonus disc" double cd package of Siberia in a couple of months too (a la Evergreen)..
