Perhaps this is the 'Brazilian radio session version' they had planned to release a few weeks ago with the Digital Bundle. - K ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://www.villiersterrace.com * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 * ====================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 30 Sep 2005 23:01:33 +0100 From: Barry Whiting Subject: Re: seven-seas B-sides R.I.P. I prefer to think of it as What Have You Gone And > Done With Your Voice.... http://www.popmatters.com/music/reviews/e/echoandthebunnymen-siberia.shtml snip... Yet, if the Bunnymen sound young and invigorated, they have still matured. McCulloch no longer yelps like an angst-ridden miscreant; rather, his voice now possesses a tender fragility that hints at the loss that inevitably comes with time, and the wisdom that compensates for such loss. This is particularly evident in "All Because Of You Days". The song is aching and gorgeous, an autumnal realization of the inability to recapture what has passed. Here McCulloch displays his trademark poetic brooding, ending the song with a bittersweet refrain of "Baby... maybe sometime / Maybe next time / We'll say hi..." His voice, however, betrays the optimism of the lyrics, sounding delicate and slightly shattered. In the background, Sergeant bounces solitary notes off the heavens, leaving them to fall around the listener. snip..... I'd go along with the above and I love the 'bounces solitary notes off the heavens' line. Of course, I liked the 'yelping' too but I do like the 'lived in', fragile and deep voice he has now. Barry, I love the album beginning to end. Many stellar moments and great songs, and no duds. This album speaks to me where I am now in my life, just as Crocodiles did when it was released. It's a mature album from two guys who have seen quite a bit. Will is phenomenol on every song. Truly Mac's most personal lyrics ever, at least for an entire album. I've seen mixed reviews from the fans here and there. I get the feeling this album really grabs you or it doesn't. I can't wait till they hit Southern California in December. Hope they represent this album well in the set. It really has live potential.
