No radio stars were harmed in the making of this article. ANTON CORBIJN (Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box"; U2's "One") ON ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN'S "THE GAME": "When we were filming in Brazil, the military stopped our car because they thought we were buying drugs. We weren't, but one of us did have coke in the car -- it wasn't me! A military guy saw [singer] Ian McCulloch and said, 'Ahhh...the Cure!' I said, 'No, Echo and the Bunnymen.' And the military guy got furious. Suddenly we were taken out of the car, and they were pushing us up against the wall with their machine guns. They let us go, but for a while I had this vision that we'd all get kidnapped and chopped up just because Ian wasn't in the Cure." http://www.spin.com/features/magazine/2005/09/0509_directors/ - -- - -Brian Andersen bandersen65@gmail.com ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://www.villiersterrace.com * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 * ====================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 2 Sep 2005 05:41:37 -0700 (PDT) From: neverstop@planet-save.com Subject: seven-seas OT: Donnie Darko I finally saw this last night (2:00 am) and was completely blown away! Thanks to all who recommended it on the list. It really did not get pushed here in the States and that is a real shame. I saw the Director's Cut so I didn't realize that they changed the opening song from "Killing Moon" to "Never Tear Us Apart." Awesome flick- my mind is still processing it! Is it still talked about as much in the UK? Thanks guys!
