From nme.com : BUNNYMEN ANNOUNCE WORLD TOUR ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN have announced details of a full world tour. The band will kick off the dates at Nottingham Rescue Rooms on October 22 and will head across the globe before returning to the UK and wrapping up at the Liverpool Academy on December 16. The tour will follow the release of their upcoming album 'Siberia' - due out on September 19. The LP will be preceded by a single 'Stormy Weather' on September 5. Speaking about 'Siberia', singer Ian McCulloch said: "The band we've got around us now are the closest to the old Bunnymen we've ever had. Not that we've intentionally set out to capture the past in any way. I think I'd been trying to get away from the approach of 'Heaven Up Here' or 'Porcupine' where a lot of the songs were based on a single note, or a pulse even." He added: "But with this album I thought, let's just slide in there and see what happens. It was Will (Sergeant - guitarist), really, who reminded me that we used to do things more instinctively. We've tried to be a little less structured in the songwriting, but not forgetting the importance of a good song. We've got the balance here, I think." The Echo & The Bunnymen tour will call at: * Nottingham Rescue Rooms (October 22) * Glasgow Barrowlands (23) * Sheffield Leadmill (24) * Norwich UEA (26) * Manchester Academy (27) * Leeds Blank Canvas (28) * Birmingham Academy (30) * Portsmouth Pyramids (31) * London Shepherds Bush Empire (November 1) * Koln Prime Club (3) * Hamburg Grunspan (4) * Berlin Columbia Club (6) * Copenhagen Vega Jnr (7) * Amsterdam Paradiso (8) * Antwerp Hof Der Lo (10) * Washington DC Black Cat (18) * Boston Axis (19) * New York Irving Plaza (20) * Philadelphia Theater Of The Living Arts (22) * Toronto The Carlu (23) * Chicago Metro Smart Bar (25) * Minneapolis Fine Line Music Cafi (26) * Denver Gothic Theatre (28) * Boise The Big Easy (30) * Portland Wonder Ballroom (December 1) * Vancouver Richard's on Richard (2) * Seattle Showbox (3) * San Francisco The Filmore (5) * Los Angeles House Of Blues (6) * Anaheim House Of Blues (7) * San Diego House Of Blues (9) * Liverpool Academy (16) ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 * http://www.neonhalos.blogspot.com ====================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Aug 2005 22:36:00 +0100 From: "KPJ" Subject: Re: seven-seas Was Bunnymen dvd, now daytime airplay Ahem!!
