It's sad.... BUT the bickering and the WAY WAY off-topic (like off the topic of music) posts and the single word posts also get tedious.... There must be a middle ground though!! A friend just recommended a band called Amusement Parks on Fire - says they're sort of shoe-gazey which usually gets my attention full stop. Anyone heard of them? I used to play Weatherall's My Bloody Valentine Mix of Soon in my early DJ sets. Grohl does seem to have very good taste, noting his collaborations with Killing Joke and Queens of the Stoneage. Not a fan of Hussey or much of his music but he was very funny on the telly when he got drunk drinking straight from a bottle of Blue Nun - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Stu Bird Sent: 12 August 2005 01:23 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: Re: seven-seas Wayne Hussey I would pay lots of money, to see/hear this.. Wetherall is a genius and the Swordsmen project of his have never made a bad track IMO. His production skills are also right up there. As for Shields. he's another very class act who hasn't really ever done much wrong. - --- Steve Griffiths wrote: > p.s. The Gun Club! One of the best American bands ever. Fire of Love is genius. Had a great convo with Jeffrey Lee Pierce on night at The Living Room in Providence, Rhode Island: Pierce: Get the fuk outta my way, kid. Me: OK. Which, PR-wise, is all you probably need to know about the Gun Club. He wrote a great book, a sorta diary. Can't recall title (one of my exes absconded with my copy) but "google" his name. A good read. He was like a southern Richard Hell crossed with the ghost of Jim Morrison. He was who Astbury wants to be. - -ADAMS Steve Griffiths wrote: Indeed, Stu, Lord Sabre is a genius.
