Due to a takeover, it seems that the Royal Court in Liverpool is no longer a music venue. It was Liverpool's largest music venue and yet still fairly intimate with that (L'pool doesn't have any of these ice hockey arena venues). It has always been the venue of choice for The Bunnymen in recent years as it handled the local demand without the panic over obtaining tickets the very minute they go on sale. It may explain why there's no hometown date for the forthcoming tour (apart from the just announced Xmas gig). Anyway, a real shame if the news is true. - -- Barry - -- Barry Whiting barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 * http://www.neonhalos.blogspot.com ====================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Aug 2005 21:59:40 +0100 (BST) From: Stu Bird Subject: Re: seven-seas Liverpool's Royal Court Hi Barry, I didn't realise that the news wasn't in wide circulation.. There have been rumours about since the middle of May when they cancelled all their forthcoming gigs and rescheduled them to the Academy. I've heard nothing definate as to what's happening to the venue, but it looks like being off the gig circuit for the forseeable. Indeed a great shame Stu - --- Barry wrote: > A bit of news that may be of interest to some (both > here and overseas).... > > Due to a takeover, it seems that the Royal Court in > Liverpool is no > longer a music venue. > > It was Liverpool's largest music venue and yet still > fairly intimate > with that (L'pool doesn't have any of these ice > hockey arena venues). > It has always been the venue of choice for The > Bunnymen in recent years > as it handled the local demand without the panic > over obtaining tickets > the very minute they go on sale. > > It may explain why there's no hometown date for the > forthcoming tour > (apart from the just announced Xmas gig). > > Anyway, a real shame if the news is true. > > -- Barry > > -- > Barry Whiting > barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk > > > > ===================================================================== > Bunnymen Online Presence: > http://www.bunnymenlist.com * > http://www.bunnymen.info > * > http://www.bunnymen.com * > http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ > * > http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * > http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ > * > http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 > * > http://www.neonhalos.blogspot.com > > ====================================================================== > > ___________________________________________________________ How much free photo storage do you get? I've had a love/hate relationship with their debut album (The Back Room) over the last month or so ; it's derivative and, boy is it derivative, but I think it, ultimately, it stands above that common criticism and is a very fine debut album. Certainly, worth a listen... Kudos to Shaz for mentioning Editors on the website's forum -- you should post recommendation here ; always welcome..... - -- B. ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 * http://www.neonhalos.blogspot.com ====================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Aug 2005 22:51:40 +0100 From: "Shaz" Subject: seven-seas Wayne Hussey BM read the other day that he wants to work with Will......
