On first impression, I like "In the Margins" best. It has a sweetness and a poignant quality which really appeal to me. Conversely, "Scissors in the Sand" is another favorite because I like the toughness and drama and general spookiness. Overall, I think there's a real synergy here -- a very good balance of Will and Ian. And it's an album I want to keep listening to ... I think there are lots more things to be discovered in there. - K :) ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 * http://www.neonhalos.blogspot.com ====================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Aug 2005 11:03:17 +1200 From: "Kristin Smith" Subject: Re: seven-seas Bunnymen dvd [ISO-8859-1] Rafael Guimarc%3 writes: > AND meet the bunnymen.... > There was talk about that at the time. I've lost count of how many times this thread has been dug up and put back to bed.. It's a total minefield.. Whilst the music rights thing is pretty straightforward, the rights to broadcast tv/video etc usually belong to any combination of the media company concerned/the broadcast company concerned, the band, the event etc etc etc.. Not to mention all of the different international laws etc governing this.. A whole raft of existing stuff has been put together already in the form of the Pictures video, but that material relates to a previous label.. Potential issues there as well, so I don't think that will ever get re-released on dvd. Whilst I'm with everyone in wishing that something could be put together, I don't think it will happen unless there is an extended period of chart and media success with Siberia and its singles. Radio 6 play at least one Bunny track a day and I've heard them mentioned twice tonight, so there's a small buzz but it's a niche radio station to be honest. Let's face it, whilst we all think the Bunnies are numero uno, the general masses are far more interested in what Pete Doherty's not doing today, or Coldplay's stolen offerings ( nice to see that they actually admitted they stole Fix You directly from Elbow ) FWIW, put me on any lists etc, but I reckon the best bet is for someone to compile stuff onto dvdr and we can chain it amongst the list ourselves. I'm totally thick regarding video-pc transfer, so I can't offer to do it myself. Sorry for the ramble..
