I think I have found information about another, earlier Bunnymen show at The Channel in Boston. I posed the question in the b.c forum, and a very nice person posted this: bThey played a single (long) set in June 1983 (forget the exact date). "Never Stop" wasn't out yet stateside but the band was configured for the Discotheque version sound - besides the original four they had another guitarist, percussion player, and violin player. Set included "My White Devil" with xylophone solo intact from the studio version. Opener was "Going Up", cut off midway (right after "going down!") and segue-ing right into "A Promise" - total magic. Opening band was Limbo Race. Rumor afterwards had it this was one of two shows the band played on this tour - supposed to be 7+ cities but they scrapped it because of poor audience reception. Hard to believe anybody would have thought this because of the Boston show.b Late June, 1983 would fit in nicely, since they played New York June 28/30th, before setting out for Iceland, Denmark and the Outer Hebrides. This is probably the Channel show which included bHeroinb and bPorcupineb, since they played them in NY at that time. - K :) ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 * http://www.neonhalos.blogspot.com ====================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 07 Aug 2005 20:44:15 -0400 From: Frank Coleman Subject: Re: seven-seas Another Boston Channel Show!
