It's just the nature of the beast ( set contracts etc ), and really of no importance to those outside the fanbase.. Peter was okay IMO ( his Aviator stuff is great to my ears)_.. Yep he hit bum notes often, but don't most musicians? I know I certainly did.. Hell Nick Mason was even half a beat out at one point during Money last Sat ( he did recover perfectly and seemlessly though ). Until official "Bunnymen" replacements are installed, this will always be the case.. And I can't ever see that happening ( again IMO ). I think there's something nice about that in so much that it shows massive respect for Pete & Les. However, the minus side to that is going to be standard-ish set lists, instability etc etc. The new bassist is known more as a guitarist, and a very good one too, so I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't in the fold too long.. Who knows, Andy Bell seems to be settled going from 6 strings to 4, but then again, he's an official member of Oasis.. Interesting times anyhow.. Now he would be great with the Bunnymen, to add to the list of other Liverpool bands he's played with Icicle Works/Lightning Seeds. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-seven-seas@smoe.org [mailto:owner-seven-seas@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Stu Bird Sent: 04 July 2005 18:22 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: Re: seven-seas Re: New Bassist For Bunnymen The coming and going of temp staff isn't really major news.. White Stripes Well, We watched the friday BBC coverage last night on the video, and I'm so glad we didn't go see the Wipes. Christ, it was even bloody awful watching it on fast forward.. I could only handle about half hour in standard mode. I don't get them.. All she is is a pretty stick-case.. Can't drum for toffee, and was there any real need for the timpani ? I will admit to liking the xylophone track though, but the rest passed me by... A good experiment is to play the Death From Above 1979 album and the new Stripes album back-to-back. I honestly get a better vibe from the DFA 1979. Stu - --- Raj wrote: > Both I guess.
