I'm not uninformed.........I've been to enough of these outdoor things to know how they work. That's why I feel that I can make the comments that I make. I happen to dislike huge crowds....and standing in them all day in the hot sun, or pouring rain, or mud, to see a band, is not my idea of fun. I'm sorry. And as for my *opinion* being wrong... my opinion is mine to make. And if I say i don't like festivals, then why is that wrong? I don't say you are wrong for liking them!!! And I don't fly off all over you for liking them. I simply said that *I* personally don't. Now, if you're talking about my 'statement' being wrong..... well, I was only reporting what I'd heard. None of which was wrong, either. There *was* flooding, and lightning *did* strike the stage. I never blew anything out of proportion. I was not being negative, nor sarcastic, nor condescending whatsoever about anything. I did think Dennis was lucky he didn't get flooded when he went, geez, how horrible of me! And as for the tent remark....unless a load of people didn't show up, it's only natural that one would think the place was full because usually there are only so many campsites allotted at these things, so yeah, if the place was 'packed out' then someone would have to sleep at the bottom of the hill. That may be the only thing I jumped to a conclusion about. I apologize. But, for as much rain as Glasto gets, you'd think the organizers would know where the run off water would go by now. So I guess it wasn't completely the fault of the tenters afterall. Maybe the organizers should rethink where the campsites should be for next time. >As per usual, the TV only ever gives half a story. >Perhaps it's best to resist from comment until people >who you may trust a bit better ( and were there ) can >give comment. Okay, first of all, how can you assume the person that told me about the flooding is not trustworthy???????? And what makes you think I shouldn't trust them as much as you? I find that insulting. Just because some people have sources that totally make up crap, doesn't mean we all do! I have more common sense than that! >No personal offence meant, let's get on with stuff we >all know about, like the Bunnymen.. None was taken until you said my sources were untrustworthy. No, there's a slight difference between me saying I don't like festivals... and really, I don't think I said anything all that HORRIBLE about them except that I don't like standing all day in huge crowds.... and you saying my sources are untrustworthy! Big difference. But nevermind................I'll just go over there. -----> ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 * http://www.neonhalos.blogspot.com ====================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Jun 2005 21:04:21 -0700 (PDT) From: chris adams Subject: Re: seven-seas glasto tv Why is it . . . and I"m sure this is a total misconception . . . that whenever I think "rock festival" I think of hygeine-deficient hippie retards? Is it just cos I've seen the Woodstock film, or is that actually a big element at these things? Cos I don't care whose playing--it could be The Bunnymen backing up the Velvet Underground, with support slots by the modern youngest and finest (many of whom were definitely on hand at Glasto) and there's no way in hell I'd pull an all-nighter there. One-day pass, maybe, but sleeping in a tent? In mud? Leave that to deadheads. Civilization was created primarily so people could order room service and rent bad hotel room porn after a good hot shower, correct?
