On first impact, it struck me that this seemed to hold the most promise of anything I've heard from them since reformation. I haven't been this excited about a new Bunny disc in a while.... - -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. My Grandads family originate from Ireland the "Sweeneys" (Dublin) & the "Cohns" from county Cork. I've never really met my Grandads family although I keep in contact with my Grandad & Grandma who live in Cheshire writing infrequently to them. I have had a lot of friends who are like family at University & from home but never really knew my Granda's family roots. My Grandma on the other hand has French & English relatives who I've never been in touch with. I used to consider everyone to be "brothers & sisters" (very hippish viewpoint). My close family live in Southport which is near Liverpool (Mum, Dad, brother, sister-in-law & nephews). When I went to Westport there was Sweeney's garages & restuarants. I often think history is intereting like the "Kennedys", John Humes biography by George Drower, history of Europe & Ancient history. There is a great poem by Benjamin Zephania which explains how eclectic Britian is: The British by Benjamin Zephaniah Serves 60 million (from 'Wicked World') Take some Picts, Celts and Silures And let them settle, Then overrun them with Roman conquerors. Remove the Romans after approximately 400 years Add lots of Norman French to some Angles, Saxons, Jutes and Vikings, then stir vigorously. Mix some hot Chileans, cool Jamaicans, Dominicans, Trinidadians and Bajans with some Ethiopians, Chinese, Vietnamese and Sudanese. Then take a blend of Somalians, Sri Lankans, Nigerians And Pakistanis, Combine with some Guyanese And turn up the heat. Sprinkle some fresh Indians, Malaysians, Bosnians, Iraqis and Bangladeshis together with some Afghans, Spanish, Turkish, Kurdish, Japanese And Palestinians Then add to the melting pot. Leave the ingredients to simmer. As they mix and blend allow their languages to flourish Binding them together with English. Allow time to be cool. Add some unity, understanding, and respect for the future, Serve with justice And enjoy. Note: All the ingredients are equally important. Treating one ingredient better than another will leave a bitter unpleasant taste. Warning: An unequal spread of justice will damage the people and cause pain. Give justice and equality to all. I think this is an excellent poem & it is important to know recent history as well as the past. Sometimes "Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy" & "Star Wars" is more fun to talk about with someone who disagrees politically. Anyway, Hope you enjoy the poem. Jonathan P. Sweeney. Ps It's amazing to think there are hundreds of people spending their nights chilling out playing the guitar around the world. PPs. The Stone Roses "Song for my Sugar Spun Sister" is really easy to play cappo on the second fret. G C Bm D are the only chords. ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * http://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-89-6 * http://www.neonhalos.blogspot.com ====================================================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V4 #183 ********************************
