I had the usual great time hanging out at the pre-gig with Red and other cyber bunnyfans. I swear that Red's cute little daughter has grown a good foot since I saw her last :)) . The venue was interesting with good vantage points available from many spots. I wanted to be down in the front with Red and co, but wasted too much time socializing on the deck, so my friends and I settled into a nice vantage point front the balcony looking right down at the stage. I've got to say in all honesty, that this was absolutely the best bunny gig I've attended since the days of Pete DeFrietas and I've attended my fair share. Mac was in top form and nailed everything with conviction and enthusiasm from start to finish. The setlist pulled more from the dark substantive depths of their history and less from the paint by numbers "Bunnies for dummies" setlist. They palyed one new song that absolutely floored me...the best new Bunny tune, in a long time. I don't know what the name of it was, but it had a slightly funky/R&B type of bass vibe (thinking almost Al Green) with Bunny guitar murk and a vocal melody that proved worthy of the setup. Mac was bantering between tunes and went off on three extended mid tune tangents... that Bunnymen trademark of looping out of context, making you forget where you started and then bringing you back for the final exclamation point. This gig was vital nourishment for my ever thirsty soul and was certainly worth every penny of speeding ticket (not to mention years of wifely reminders), my lead foot cost me on the way home. I bow at the alter of the great and worthy BunnyGod. Love and Kisses.... David - -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
