Hi, Do you know if the Bunnymen are going to play any gigs in the near future near Salisbury? Truro is a long way to travel on a week night! It's ashame they're not playing a saturday down there as Cornwall is a beautiful place to visit. I'd recommend anyone to visit the area, we went to cornwall last summer and have planned another holiday there for this summer. The beach at Hayle is better than any painting and St. Ives is a beautiful town. I believe King Arthur's castle is meant to be at Tintagel. It's worth going down and if you have kids there's always the seal sanctuary. Listen to the short background music looping at http://www.ianbroudie.com/site/index.php - that will give you an idea of what to expect. It's definatley worth getting. I think I've seen it for under #10 around Liverpool. I really like Lorca, Brendan Kennelly, Paul Farley and Roger McGough poetry wise. I've been reading Che Guevara's biography and also have dipped into "The Emerald Kings" a Kennedy biography. I've previosly read a Kennedy biography by Barowitz (I think) It's really interesting the early part of the Kennedys there migration to the USA and Joe Kennedy. I have an interest in irish history and John Hume's biography was a compelling read. My favourite book of all time is Dovstoevsky's "Crime & Punishment" - It's a compelling read. Anyway also wondered what sort of literature influenced McCulloch. I have "Bunnymen" on my Google alerts so any time "Bunnymen" is referenced in a news story I get e-mailed the links. Usually they are just mentions like "influenced by the Bunnymen, etc among others" type mentions. One came up a couple of weeks ago that Seymour Stein who signed the Bunnymen and a bunch of New Wave and Punk bands to Sire was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I think its just one of the big wigs who sign the papers although it said he "discovered" the bands. Most of the bands mentioned were around for a while before Sire, so I guess he brought them into the mainstream more by taking chances on newer music at that time.
