Best support band I've seen in years. > Great album despite the 9 minute prog-wiggly bits. why do you say I hate to say this but.....? I like what I've heard. One track reminds me of T Rex... I heard that the Cocteau Twins have only just reformed so that'll be interesting.....hopefully.. I hope Johnny Borrell is better by then, just heard Razorlight have pulled out of their US and UK tour due to Johnny having laryngitis and being ordered to rest his voice by two specialists. Sounds like a good festival line up!! I'd also go and see Kasabian, Gang of Four, Nine Inch Nails and Roni Size and if the Prodigy still have the vibe they are amazing in a festival setting. I remember seeing them and the whole massive field of people going nuts right to the very last people at the back and round the edges. They have incredible energy. btw....has anyone heard The Futureheads cover version of the Kate Bush track Hound of Love it's brill..... They have a really strong body of work behind them but never seem to have caught the indie press / kids imagination. I really like Roddy's lyrics too ; there's nothing and yet something about them that's really engaging. Michael Stipe's always raving about them (the band) which is amounts to his only decent output these days. Liz Frasier destroyed my hearing in 1991. I was stood next to one of the speaker stacks throughout a gig of theirs in Bristol. Everytime she pitched a certain note, my head recoiled in what I can only assume was some kind of resonant-frequency effect. I've _never_ experienced anything like it since save to say that the hearing in my left ear is not what it should be and that gig is the only thing I can attribute it to. Of course, the embarrassment lies in admitting the Cocteaus did for me. Not The Mary Chain, not Husker Du or the Pixies or any other assault-on-the-senses live acts. No, the bloody Cocteau Twins. - -- Barry ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * ====================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Feb 2005 00:20:01 -0000 From: "Shaz" Subject: Re: seven-seas OT: Coachella Lineup Announced The Cocteau Twins???
