At least Bush also won the popular vote as well this time unlike last time. Like I said, I expected it to be a massive win for Bush, so the fact that it was close gives me hope for the future. I'm gutted for all of you Americans, I really am. I really want to go stateside one day but will only do so under a Democratic or Independant regime. Finally some positive thoughts.. I have noticed that there has been considerably more interest paid to the state of play there by people here, especially the younger people. That has to be a good thing. Also, I think that the crass "gung-ho", loud, egotistical stereotype applied to all Americans by a lot of the Brits has been smashed. People are seeing a lot of themselves in the general public over there as relayed by interviews in the run up etc shown on the news programs etc. It's our turn next year, and I believe this will be a truely unique point in our political history. Providing the minor party leaders have the balls, there is the best chance ever of small parties, like the Greens, Socialists, Independants gaining seats as the country becomes more dissolusioned with the mainstream. Oh well, enough by me,I reckon I've got some music to download out there somewhere !!
