Actually, this re-election of Bush is nothing like that of Clinton. The one thing people should understand, the US Government has worked best when there are checks & balances. During Clinton's tenure, there was a split of Democratic & Republican holds of the Presidency, Senate, and House of Representatives. Because of the existence of these checks & balances, initiatives were scrutinized and critiqued to ensure a fair shake. This is evident with the balanced budget, budget surplus, and an economic prosperity of the 90s. However, with Bush and the Republican majority stronghold of the Presidency, Senate, AND House of Representatives, spending has been out of control, absolutely NO balances of power, a growing debt spiralling out of control, a permanent tax-cut that helps nobody but those that don't need it, slashing or under-funding of significant programs...the list goes on. As you said, "the Republicans will get drunk with power and fall apart"...well, they DID get drunk and DID fall apart. They were just successful in misleading most Americans to think otherwise. We need checks and balances to be successful...and we didn't get it yesterday. The Democratic Party is now in the shape the Republican Party was in, circa Bob Dole for Pres. The Democrats will regain focus after this while the Republicans will get drunk with power and fall apart. A Democrat will be in the White House in the next four to eight years. I'll probably get the album over the weekend, so I'll let you know my thoughts. Judging by the live stuff I heard ( I have a copy on video tape.. one of the benefits of digital tv ), it's a lot lighter than standard Manics fayre..
