At least Bush will now have to deal with his own mess. On a happier note our local citizen-action squad here in a California suburb defeated a billion-dollar development initiative, that would have destroyed our waterfront with dozens of luxury condo towers. The developer spent 20 times our budget deluging the whole town with slick propaganda and they still lost to a bunch of grassroots activists! It just shows that you should never give up, and in the end the people DO have the power. ===================================================================== Bunnymen Online Presence: http://www.bunnymenlist.com * http://www.bunnymen.info * http://www.bunnymen.com * http://www.fotolog.net/sgtfuzz/ * http://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/ * http://www.angelfire.com/wy2/discog/ * ====================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 03 Nov 2004 18:25:24 -0500 From: RossNTeka@aol.com Subject: Re: seven-seas :) =?ISO-8859-1?B?oCBPVD8/Pz8=?= Ok, I'll chime in, a political view from a non-political guy. The Kerry supporters are now feeling what Republicans felt when Clinton took the race way back when. The Democratic Party is now in the shape the Republican Party was in, circa Bob Dole for Pres. The Democrats will regain focus after this while the Republicans will get drunk with power and fall apart. A Democrat will be in the White House in the next four to eight years. And then............ Kerry would not have turned the country communist and Bush is not going to draft anyone. And so it goes, as my life turns round and round. America is great, I'm not moving. I haven't bought the album yet which is the first one of theirs not got on day of release, but the stuff I heard them play live on the radio Monday sounded okay. In fact I'm surprised at how close it was.. The world generally is turning into a racist, right wing "f**k you, I'm allright, Jack" place so that's just the ticket for BushCo. Not a nice thing to say & no consolation I know ( especially to some of the caring and sharing democrats over there), but when you make a mistake, you don't repeat it.. Simple. By that rule ( & looking at the numbers), America will get what it deserves.. Sad but true IMO. Stu Andrew Ironside wrote: War more years indeed.
