I do really like the tempo change on Take Me Out, but apart from that it sort of washes over me as being ordinary, much like Parachutes did when that was being claimed as the best thing since sliced milk.. FWIW, I thought that the Hope Of The States album shoud have won and it wasn't even on the shortlist !! Of those on the shortlist, I would have gone for Keane as they are not the classic band line up. For an album from a "band" with no guitars, and one that I really enjoy both recorded and live, well i wouldn't have said it was possible a few years ago. And yes, Eno was very cool indeed!!! That said, the FF album is a great debut (and would have been 3rd on my list) but I think they excel as a live band ; definitely worth checking out. Oh, and I agree, Mr. Eno looked very dapper. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anne Gleeson" To: Sent: Wednesday, September 08, 2004 1:46 PM Subject: Re: OT: seven-seas Franz Ferdinand > I don't really like them that much, but I don't find > them offensive, which means I don't turn the dial when > they're on the radio.
