If you followed this argument, then there would be many other countries Blair&Bush Co. would have steamrollered into before Iraq. It was an easy target for them, that's all. Not to mention the oil and the rebuilding contracts.. That's jam and cream. Whilst the persecution in Iraq under Houssain was terrible, that is only my opinion, but then again, I find the death penalty in Saudi, USA and other so-called humane countries indefencable. I could go on.. You can draw lines and make judgements wherever you like to defend your actions.. It's a massive grey area, the whole civil rights, war on terror, regimes of hatred etc etc that needs changing into black and white.. Yep, that's it, we should have a war on spin doctors. Stu P.S Franz Ferdinand just won the Mercury prize.. Is it just me who doesn't get them ?? MCH wrote: Though it is a mess, and costing dearly in blood treasure and world opinion, still... as bad as it is, somebody had to do something about Iraq. The world had tried every other possibility for 12 years and Saddam was still there, killing and persecuting his people, and his insane sons would have done even worse after him. It should have been done in 91 and for that reason, it really was for America to take on. Wrong timing, wrong justification, but some good will come from it, though far too late and with suffering for all. - --------------------------------- ALL-NEW Yahoo! To be honest, I'd have paid whatever for the new stuff anyway, so a cd copy of London Calling isn't too bad a hassle for me as my vinyl has at least one noticiable scratch. Funny, I'm not sure if anyone else has ever done this, but you get used to scratches and jumps on your vinyl and those noises become part of the song after a while. You hear the song it in a shop and the correct, clean version really throws you !!.. Sorry I digress... That's a point, if anyone in the UK has downloaded all the goodies the Zapster put up and has a cd burner, I'd be more than happy to provide blanks and postage for a copy on disc.. Working with this box is like being stuck in a dark room looking for a black lightswitch.. They have the advantage of being non-English and thus representing "the whole of the UK." As someone said, look at the long-term success rate of those who've won. Been meaning for ages to post the list of nominees to see who people thought would win, and should win. :-) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 7 Sep 2004 18:30:21 -0500 (CDT) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: Re: OT: seven-seas MORE BUSH LIES > No, not just you. There is no question that it is a very complex subject.
