This is true of many Bunnymen and also Peter Murphy cuts. Good lyrics "surf the wave" of the music (Joshua Tree) but excess vocals become irritating babble, an excessive foreground. Murphy tragically damages many of his (truly great) songs with excess vocals taking over the scene. It must be challenging for the front persons to control their egos and defer to the music. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V3 #258 ********************************
