Between Heaven Up Here and Porcupine, I knew almost nothing about the band, except that I loved them. I began to wonder if they had broken up and then I finally recognized the Band through the Cutter on an obscure left of the dial station and I was ecstatic. If only the internet was in full force back then, these magazines certainly wouldn't have established the ground that allows them to survive today. I think the phrase 'spiteful for no apparent reason.' sums it up quite nicely. The worrying thing is they might at some point believe they can do better.....'oh wots that??....it's been done already??.....staff of a music mag thinking they could do better???...surely not!!!!........well here's hoping they come up with something better than beep beep over a nasal tone huh??' ;-) > That "Curvature" piece is an extremely bad review. > It's poorly written, obviously tossed together within fifteen minutes after reading the press release, and offers no particular insight into the music at all. > It's also spiteful for no apparent reason. > A pedestrian effort. The NME needs some people who know their shit and can fukkin string a word or two together, not these nosepickin' little twerps who lend themselves some sort of authority that is grossly absent from their written product. > One out of 5 stars. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V3 #242 ********************************
