The Hollywood actress, 31, gave birth early on Saturday to a 9lbs 11oz baby girl - Apple Blythe Alison Martin. Music by Coldplay star Chris's favourite band - Sigur Ros - was piped into the delivery room at a North London hospital. The oddball four-piece group sing in made-up language Hopelandish. They share their name with the singer's sister - it means "victory rose". Their first commercial release was a 20-minute instrumental called Babatikidodo - based on the sound of toe taps. And bassist Goggi Holm is nicknamed "white fang" - because he can catch trout with his teeth. Other celebrity fans are said to include Brad Pitt, Madonna and fellow Icelander Bjork, 38. Chris, 27, meanwhile, yesterday tried to explain why they called their baby Apple, saying: "It's just a very cool name." But he also admitted: "I don't know why we chose that." Speaking from their London home, he refused to say where mum and baby are. But he added: "It was a long, hard birth and they're resting." ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 May 2004 09:18:12 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas Gwyn's girl is an ice baby (Sigur Ros) (and Moz) At 12:59 PM 5/18/04 +0100, you wrote: >Music by Coldplay star Chris's favourite band - Sigur Ros - was piped >into the delivery room at a North London hospital. BTW...I mentioned this on VT....Moz will be on the Craig Kilborn show every night next week!! The female guest last night said she figured Craig to be more of the type that would 'beat Morissey up' rather than a fan! heheheheee Red ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 May 2004 08:51:30 -0500 (CDT) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: Re: seven-seas Gwyn's girl is an ice baby (Sigur Ros) > The Hollywood actress, 31, gave birth early on Saturday to a 9lbs 11oz > baby girl - Apple Blythe Alison Martin. It's sad being old and poor!) Anyway, apparently it was his first tv interview in something like 17 years, and he was brilliant and in a very subtle and droll way definitely put Ross in his place (best bit was when he continued to insist that they couldn't be friends with a face that suggested he wasn't trying to be the least bit funny). The new single sounded alright if a bit rehashed, but Everyday Is Like Sunday was great. I, too, would like to say I only catch Saturday's early hours repeat after a night of debauchery but, alas, it's the Friday show for me too. Quite taken aback at just how shy and uncomfortable Mozzer looked. Still, the two tunes made up for it....really like the new single.
