We managed to get 3 touted tickets for the Bristol show, and they were brilliant live. A bit of a shock for me as there are no guitars, but they carry it off really well. They take a lot of pride in their b-sides ( possibly due to lack of material ? ) which I also like.. It's far too easy these days for bands to put out crap as b-sides. > > I'm going through probably the laziest time ever regarding music.. Tunes aplenty but it just doesn't find the top corner, for me, and I can't see it being a grower. Not much doing for me, either, aside from The Streets' 2nd. The new Sonic Youth is return to the early Geffen sound and is nothing short of fantastic in places ; keep hearing bits of The Stills here and there and liking what I hear but, again, when it comes to the album, it's "ok" and we know that's never good enough, really. Oh, and I'm probably alone in liking the Delays record but I think that's the summer-longing in me. - -- Barry Stu Bird wrote: >To be honest Barry, I haven't got the album yet, but I like all the output I've heard. Just could do with out the "thumbs up" banter. You serious about "Imagine", Shaz ?? It would count as one of the worse songs in the Ringo Starr back catalogue, had he written it, let alone Lennon's... - -- Barry ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 May 2004 16:49:39 -0700 From: Charles Pham Subject: seven-seas OT: The Shore Not sure if this has been mentioned here or not, but I've been spending a great deal of time with The Shore record. I don't know much about them other than: 1) sound like The Verve 2) they're american, from california 3) look like they stepped out of The Strokes look-a-like contest. they're on maverick...so i'm sure their label will drop the ball and they'll find their way onto an indie soon enough. http://www.maverick.com/theshore/ Charles ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V3 #174 ********************************
