I really don't know how to say this any clearer, but this was an oversold-out show and the bar was packed back to the door. There WAS NO ROOM AT THE BACK. I looked. To my mind, those who want to indulge in anti-social behaviour ought to be the ones in a cage, or at the back. Sorry, pack animal behaviour doesn't rank highly on my list of rawk-n-roll. Besides, didn't think Muse was rawk -- NOT HERE. Obviously in the UK they are. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Apr 2004 11:53:17 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas OT: Muse (I need a reality check!) Burrock" Subject: RE: seven-seas OT: Muse (I need a reality check!) Wow. Hit in the head with the mic stand. ouch! My worst was Hoobastank (did I spell that right?) at Music Midtown here in Atlanta 2 years ago...we were at about the halfway point in the crowd, as everyone had to stand somewhere near - there were 5 or so stages scattered all over the place. Me and my two mates were standing around basically enjoying the previous acts to grace that particular stage, when Hoobastank hit the stage and BAM! suddenly the entire crowd pushed forward, we were basically trampled, our feet off the ground...we had to fight our way to the sides immediately to escape...a bit bruised, missing a shoe or two, but was till up for drinking...:-) - --- Anne Gleeson wrote: > I once saw the JAMC (back in the day) and some girl > in > the front row got hit in the head with the mic stand > that one of the guys was swinging around. If I play music by Muse for anyone here, they aren't going to class them with The Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Daftness -- they aren't going to be considered a band people are likely to mosh to, unless someone either decides to do it or knows of their reputation in the UK. What kind of band do you think The Fall would be pigeonholed into in the UK and the US? You know we apply different labels here to bands we don't know well, and Muse just is not known that well here. Moreso than SP, but still. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Apr 2004 17:36:45 +0100 (BST) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Stu=20Bird?= Subject: Re: seven-seas OT: Muse (I need a reality check!) Well I got this horribly wrong !! It's such a pain when you can't see the whole line up till June.... Muse will be clashing with Orbital's Last ever UK show on the Sunday.. Spiritualized will clash with Oasis on the Friday.. Normally I'd go for Spiz, but Oasis will have Zak Starkey on drums so not sure yet.. BRMC clash with McNabb, so I guess it's gonna be us old farts watching Boots !! British Sea Power last night in Bristol.. Brilliant, and they're still as mad as a box of frogs.. They now have a 7 foot grizzly bear dancing around with them during their last song.. Bonkers Stu Stu Bird wrote: Muse are headlining the Pyramid stage on the Sunday at Glasto this year... Thankfully, Spiritualized are headining the New stage at the same time, so I know where I'll be.. especially as McNabb will be on the same stage before Spiz... - --------------------------------- Yahoo! I've been there a few times. I got knocked on the floor twice at ULU but that didn't make me wanna leave, or stop going to gigs! Sometimes it doesn't bother me as much... but if I'm not in the mood to be trampled, I always stay at the back or the far side. Who's Hoobastank?...hope they didn't stank after all that! ;-) Red ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V3 #150 ********************************
