I think I said it was normal and to be expected. So if you're gonna comment, at least get it right. Coz I also told you that if you don't wanna be pushed and 'touched', you can always move somewhere else. >All I can say regarding the difference between your experiences >and mine are thank God I didn't grow up or live where you did, riiiiiiight! but see.....none of the gigs I go to are in MY area! :P Got ya there, didn't I? And all the English on the list that commented said the same thing I did.....that it is normal .....so you're lucky you didn't grow up in the Uk either! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Apr 2004 07:23:40 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas OT: Muse (I need a reality check!) Funny, but you're the one who mentioned seeing more gigs than me this year....so, you counting ? And besides, who gives a fuck? I was trying to make a point... and the point was...that it happens a LOT! If you think this behaviour is so out of the norm......... how comes no one else on this list is defending your accusations? Why? Because it's normal to get slammed around at gigs, that's why? And if you don't want that to happen...you simply move. You can ALWAYS find a quietER, calmER place to stand. And comparing getting bumped into at a gig and being raped at a bar..... has absolutely NOTHING in common, and is a big hysterical laugh! There's a difference between someone beating the shit out of one person...and someone bumping into people at a gig. I'm sure if you were 'beaten up' as you claim, you would have told a bouncer to have the person removed....right? Or didn't you wanna give up your front row spot to go do that? You may as well face it Amy.... you're always gonna find rough gigs....and if ya don't want pushed around that night...you have 2 choices: 1. move. 2. leave. :-) >If there's no back at which to stand, your choice is to LEAVE. Then leave. But there's always a back. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Apr 2004 07:47:24 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas Ian McCulloch - Live & Acoustic in Liverpool At 10:26 PM 4/27/04 -0700, you wrote: >It will be seated, and will be an intermit acoustic affair ; >candlelit tables, Dubonnet on ice, listening to Mac sing Songs for Swinging >Lovers. I've been following this one with some interest. I don't really do the up the front or even in the middle thing at gigs any more, although I did go a bit nuts at a Ministry gig last year. There's always space at the back, always. But you can't take the moshing out of a live show, it wouldn't be raaaawk n roll without it. And no, I've never seen the Mary Chain. It's a sore point that one - -----Original Message----- From: Red [mailto:redhead@sunlink.net] Sent: 28 April 2004 14:08 To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: Re: seven-seas OT: Muse (I need a reality check!) That was probably one of the most violent shows I've ever been too. (probably the reason why NYC stopped serving beers in bottles at gigs!) hehehehheee The Pixies opened....but the Mary Chain were absolutely fantastic that night! One of my all time BEST gigs ever! I had to go halfway back soon after they came on stage coz there was so much stage diving and moshing! Steve got his glasses kicked off his face and LUCKILY caught them or they would have become trampled into the mounds of broken glass that was all over the floor. It literally took us 45 mins to walk to and down the stairs to get out the door. (it was an upstairs venue...one room) The glass was even down the stairsteps! One of the most memorable gigs of my life! Sorry you haven't ever seen them.
