Getting beaten up by someone is criminal assault, if you ask them to stop and they don't. You cannot waive your right to press criminal charges, unlike civil charges, and saying that one ought to expect to be kicked and hit and groped repeatedly is like saying that if one goes to a bar one should expect to be raped on the pool table. Sorry, that's unacceptable. I thought I'd made it very clear that there was NO WHERE else to stand in that sea of people. There was the one room, and there was outside. That was it. Oh, this'll change -- all it's going to take is one death, and bye-bye mosh pit. There are laws that require businesses that cater to the public to have toilet facilities, ffs, and similarly, they have to be held responsible for injuries on their premises if they contribute to the injuries by not having a place where one can watch the band without being assaulted. If you're really telling me that even ECHO have this problem, that's ridiculous. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Apr 2004 10:39:12 -0500 (CDT) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: Re: seven-seas OT: Muse (I need a reality check!) > As I see it, this is the one advantage to being taken to the ballet, the > opera or the Wyoming Junior Miss Pageant. > Perhaps next time you should carry a cactus. I think if there's a next time, I'm wearing boots with chaps, a spiked safety helmet with straps, and carrying pepper spray. :-) Heck, just some spiked armour ought to do it ;-) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Apr 2004 12:50:58 -0400 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas OT: Muse (I need a reality check!) Oh hardy har har! and HOW do you know? I've been to gigs I haven't mentioned! thank you! >Getting beaten up by someone is criminal assault, if you >ask them to stop and they don't. Stand at the back.....coz that doesn't work at gigs! >I thought I'd made it very clear that there was NO WHERE else >to stand in that sea of people. There was the one room, >and there was outside. That was it. Stand at the back. Same rule. See, at gigs...you either put up...or shut up... or stay home! :-))))) It's that simple. >Oh, this'll change -- all it's going to take is one death, and >bye-bye mosh pit. Get real Amy.......there's been so many gigs where people have been trampled etc....... blah blah blah. I dunno what you expect! >If you're really telling me that even ECHO have this problem, >that's ridiculous. Are you REALLY that naive??????? If I were you....I wouldn't go to any more gigs.... or else...stand at the back! BTW........that statement I made above was in general! NOT from Jan 1st to now. If you really have to ask us if this sort of behaviour is norm for a gig... then you REALLY couldn't have been to very many proper gigs......'in your lifetime'...shall I clarify? I really don't see how you can call getting bashed into at a gig 'assault'...and ON PURPOSE...unless you were continually turning around and yelling at someone to 'stop it'....coz that just makes them do it more. Really... the only way to avoid getting slammed into, pushed into the stage, knocked down, etc etc etc...is to stand at the back. I'm just flabbergasted that you think you can just expect NOT to have these things happen!
