I check it daily. The only date confirmed thus far is the opening date in Florida. The new album is slated for a June release, with the new single going to radio within the next week or so. They're doing Coachella in 2 weeks, then it's off to Europe for some festivals, then back to the States for Curefest. So I suspect they'll be announcing their US Tour dates within the next month or so. www.chainofflowers.com Charles - -----Original Message----- From: amyr@jump.net [mailto:amyr@jump.net] Sent: Tuesday, April 20, 2004 12:35 AM To: seven-seas@smoe.org Subject: Re: seven-seas Bunnymen to tour with Coldplay? > to what The Cure will be doing this summer (The Cure, Interpol, Mogwai, The > Rapture, and others TBA). Chris is a good guy but I have to agree with a lot of your points Henry. To totally write off the Furs for whatever reason is a mistake. Sure, people look to the first two albums. But "Forever Now" is a great album and mixes up their post punk gnashing with pop sensibilities, whimsically produced by Todd Rundgren of all people. As well, "Book of Days" is a hugely amazing record and easily ranks up there with anything the Bunnymen have ever done. But even their pop stuff - "Mirror Moves," "Midnight to Midnight," and "World Outside" - easily stands up to the Grey Album in songwriting, guitar sounds, and overall listenability. As far as the remasters, box set, extra tracks, etc., go, the Bunnymen win hands down. The Bunnymen seem to have quite a bit more throw away stuff to have put onto these collections. However, if you count record sales, fogettaboutit. The Furs win hands down.
