Cracking. Very entertaining band and well worth seeing live (only #8.40 a ticket incl booking), probably better than their recorded stuff (the bits I've heard anyway). That said, they get 10/10 for calling one of their tracks Zutonkhamuun! There's a touch of John Power/CAST in a couple of tracks, no bad thing. They were used on Football Focus yesterday which is always a decent sign of recognition. Overall I'd say that I prefer The Coral, if I had to pick between them. More of a band thing going as opposed to the Zutons which seem to be a bit of a one man show (singer/guitarist). By luck, got tickets for last nights Primal Scream gig at The Coronet, Elephant & Castle. Never been to a gig at this venue before but it was pretty good. Very high ceiling. Apparently has something to do with the owner of Brixton Academy. Absolutely blinding show. Since the additions of Mani and Kevin Shields a while back their live shows are just awesome, great great sound. Notable bits 'The End' cover, a dedication to Shane McGowan and then McGowan coming on stage and singing on 'Movin On Up'. The great Andy Weatherall was DJing too. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V3 #49 *******************************
