Isn't it about time you started spring cleaning? ARSE !!!! Hi Barry, Agree with you on point one, hence the "day to day use" caveat in my post. I can also recharge my minidisc from the mains as well as the in car "options" etc that is available with the ipod. I must admit that I haven't considered the playlist thing as it's something I've never done, unless I've made myself up a compilation which means I've already got a hard copy ( cdr/minidisc ). I guess it's something that if used, is very important to people.. I'll give you that one !! ;-) Just out of interest, how do you run specific search criteria over dozens of folders to obtain these tracks and build automatic playlists without exploring etc ??.. The thought of manually looking through all my folders and some 2500+ mp3's on the pc is daunting ( not to mention the fact that by the time I'd done it, I probably wouldn't wanna listen to the damn thing anyway ! ).. Or is this the magic of the ipod ? Cheers, Stu Barry Whiting wrote: - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stu Bird" > So, are people really THAT indecisive that they have to take out with them 9 times as music as they could possibly listen to ?? If you have to plug it in to recharge, then you can also transfer music at the same time ( it can't take that long, what with it being an ipod and all that ). Two things : a) You can recharge direct from the mains. So, fr'instance, when I work away from home, I don't have to decide what I want with me for the week ahead. I have it all to hand... b) Playlists. I probably spend half my listening time listening to playlists (as opposed to albums straight). Give me a random selection of all my music based on some criteria or other. Compile an hours playlist of my favourite tracks that I haven't listened to for over a month. Geeky ? Yes. But great. I feel I could conquer continents with this thing. - -- Barry Whiting barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== - --------------------------------- Yahoo!
