I LOVE THE BLOKE ALWAYS LOVED HIS SONGS ABOUT ROSES" I agree I think any media around this release is totally great for the band. Just as a foot note, some of you will know I work for a large record retailer in the uk (H*V) and I have been watching the sales of the reissues with a close eye. In my store they were in the top best selling back cat cds over the Christmas period. We sold a lot, just imagine that in 180 other branches = GOOD NEWS. Earlier stuff a bit "yee-haa, just chipper buoy" for me, but as Shaz said, the new album ( the rock one.. he's releasing 3 in the next few weeks/months ) really is good.. Sad thing is, the same record company that gave us EATB in the first place is the same that will shoving these cover versions down our throats...but they haven't pushed any of the EATB releases since they moved them over to ADA. What does ADA stand for? I have a feeling it's not Americans with Disabilities Act, since EATB are British and certainly don't have any disabilities! ;-) ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Jan 2004 19:13:59 -0600 (CST) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: Re: seven-seas Seal Covers Echo And The Bunnymen > Maybe we're all being a tad precious about this ????? No, for me it's not the "ohmigod-nobody-oughtta-cover-the-Bunnymen" kind of thing -- it is specifically *Seal* doing *that song* that has me wincing. I'd love to see good covers, and if he manages to pull one off, fine. I personally think one of the lesser known songs would be a better choice since there'd be more room (IMHO) for artistic interpretation -- "Lips" is so formulaic that I can't see there being much change from the original. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 06 Jan 2004 20:15:14 -0500 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas New iPods At 01:05 AM 1/7/04 -0000, you wrote: >wow - they are beautiful.... :-o I thought you were going to bed, Shaz?? ;-) hehehheee Red ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ End of seven-seas-digest V3 #7 ******************************
