Horn also signed and produced Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Welcome To The Pleasuredome". ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 06 Jan 2004 19:23:31 -0500 From: Red Subject: Re: seven-seas New Music At 12:00 AM 1/7/04 +0000, you wrote: >I'm gonna get it for sure Shaz.. the track So Alive that is getting airplay is enough to convince me to go get it.. Anyone else heard it - what do you think?? It's OK but it's his weakest solo album. The two "Love Is Hell" albums (the albums he *wanted* to release) are so much better, harking back to his magnificent 'Heartbreaker' debut. 'Rock N Roll' is totally off-kilter, throwaway but honest (or is it ironic ?) fun. A mile away from his alt-country leanings but if you like trashy 3 minute rock songs with a plenty of powerhouse power-chords, then it might be for you. Oh, and go catch him live if you get the opportunity. Shambolic but magnificent. - -- Barry Whiting barry@urquell.freeserve.co.uk ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 7 Jan 2004 00:32:03 +0000 (GMT) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Stu=20Bird?= Subject: Re: seven-seas Seal Covers Echo And The Bunnymen Not directed at you Shaz, rather a general point of view after reading quite a few similar mails on here since the news broke. After all, you only have to look at the charts to find around 40% cover versions in the top 20 singles.. Saw Seal at Phoenix one year.. not a massive fan, but there's a lot worse out there, and I hope he adds his own style to the track to make it totally different sounding.. Sorry if I offended anyone ( yet again ).. wasn't my intention I'll get me coat, Stu shaz wrote: I think it's good when the Bunnymen get any acknowledgement, so from that point of view it's good... but I have always disliked Seal's music, so it will be interesting to hear this!! I really can not imagine how he will interpret it..... I'm not being precious, I just don't like his style of music...just a personal opinion.......hope it sells well though!!!!!!
