Looking forward to the rest of the week off and I will be spending much of it listening to these discs, no doubt. I'm curious to see what other little revelations I discover. I trust this will be the last time I buy these discs until they invent a way to holographically remaster audio tracks. > Date: Tue, 30 Dec 2003 09:32:53 +0000 > From: "Peter Burnand" > Subject: seven-seas last digest > > seven-seas Anniversary Remasters > "The bells in "Yo Yo Man" sound like they are ringing straight out of a > baroque masterpiece." > Class line, David! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 31 Dec 2003 04:13:23 +0000 From: "Peter Burnand" Subject: seven-seas last digestive seven-seas Limited Uk dates for anniversary tour The Union Chapel where Mac did a solo gig would be good for the Bunnymen....stained glass window etc.. Yes, that would be a class Bunnymen venue, Shaz - dark, gloomy, atmospheric and... with seats. Mac was top quality that night, I remember. I'm well into gigs where you can sit down these days, that's why the Royal Court is also a great place. The Paradiso in Amsterdam is another pure Bunnymen shrine, it was really buzzing in there. The only problem was that I had to hack my way through a forest of 6 foot 14 Amsterdamonians and that was just the girls. - --- seven-seas crown of thorns I'd gladly pay 40 quid for a set of discs and a 100+ page book outlining each track (difference and corresponding thought process behind it etc etc ) in detail... I'd even forgo some of the extra tracks for this too.. Wierd enough Peter ? ;-) Yes, this is what we want, Stu! Though I was thinking weirdness more in the context of future Bunnymen recorded offerings to the great insatiable public dat we is. But maybe also something unashamedly anthemy with driller-killer-fuzz-riff installed. Hesitate to mention the name Kingbird, but perhaps the Bunnymen (majestic as they still are) need the likes of Ian Broudie; another head on the same level to bounce their ideas off. _________________________________________________________________ Protect your PC - get McAfee.com VirusScan Online http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963 ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Dec 2003 23:54:35 -0800 (PST) From: David Blewett Subject: seven-seas Brazil This from the Mission's website http://www.themissionuk.com/news/default.asp#TRLWRMTYQQ HUSSEY ON RADIO IN SAO PAULO Wayne Hussey yesterday, 4th Dec., made a surprise and impromptu live performance on air at the 18 year anniversary celebrations for Brazil's major alternative radio station 89fm (www.89fm.com/br). Wayne played an acoustic version of The Mission's biggest ever hit in Brazil - 'Butterfly On A Wheel' - along with a version of 'Evangeline' that segued into the Cure's 'A Night Like This.' During the interview Wayne told of plans to record and release a new Mission album next year and also that he has now made Brazil his home. Wayne was also seen backstage with Mac & Will at the Echo & The Bunnymen show in Sao Paulo a week or so ago and there are rumours that Wayne asked Will to play guitar on his proposed solo album next year.....Only a rumour though....... - - - -- - --- __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I'd like to see Martin Carr collaborate with the Bunnys.. I think he and Will could create some top stuff, especially if his last album is anything to go by. May be a bit too experimantal for Mac ?? With regards to venues, we have "The best chamber music acoustic in Britain" here in St. Georges Church ( also has a recording studio often used by the BBC). Literally a stone's throw from where the Bunnies played their first Bristol show, and has seen gigs by the likes of Bjork and Elvis Costello. Lovely venue.. we could all wear tuxedos and drink red wine beforehand whilst playing a relaxing game of conkers on nearby Brandon Hill .... I'll get me coat..
