Is there a date for it going live again? _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail messages direct to your mobile phone http://www.msn.co.uk/msnmobile ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Dec 2003 08:39:05 -0800 From: Charles Pham Subject: seven-seas liverpool & london there has been plenty of reviews on the two shows, so i won't get too into them. just wanted to say there really is no point in seeing any more shows in the states...shows in the uk are much more fun. i will say that the liverpool show was much more enjoyable for me. perhaps it was the meet before hand as well as the excitement seeing them in their home town, but it was definitely better than sheperds bush, where i was stuck in the back. but london was still good times. best moment at the liverpool show was probably the audience singing so loud mac couldn't sing 'killing moon'. and 'the cutter' is always a show stopper. low points were 'i'll fly tonight', a complete mess, as well as 'rust' and 'do it clean', and all the cool merch being soldout. my shitty pics will be up very soon... it was great meeting everyone and putting a face to the names/aliases. everyone was very nice and full of class. special thanks to looloo for the liverpool ticket, red for sorting that all out, sharon & bf for being amazingly nice, anne for bantering about old sf memories, and to barry & helen and martyn for being so fucking cool. good times. who's susan? and is she on the list? and fenton? btw: since bunnymen.com is down, Zap you interested in using bunnymenlist.com as a source for info? lastly: why hasn't text-messaging takin' off in the states?? it's so convenient. - - Charles ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Dec 2003 12:06:10 -0600 (CST) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: Re: seven-seas liverpool & london > lastly: why hasn't text-messaging takin' off in the states?? it's so > convenient. Lack of everyone being close enough together to get digital reception, which you need; lack of capacity due to not enough cell transmission powers; perceived lack of demand so the different cell stations don't get the correct software; only being able to send *messages* to people on your same network (eg AT&T -> AT&T) and there being so many networks; and finally, expense. The last I checked, UK cell phone usage was cheaper than US -- go figure, since there are more companies here. I believe it is simply due to population density being so much higher there than here. And perhaps, being more pushy, we are more apt to just *call* someone and interrupt whatever they are doing; it takes far less time to punch in a number than a text message. With unlimited free evenings and weekends, there's no disincentive to just call. I'm the only person I know who texts -- and I do it by sending email, which one can also do. I have fun emailing people about events I'm attending or have just attended..... and it's a convenient and inexpensive way to reach people overseas who would be asleep if you were to ring them ;-) Amy, who has obviously spent a LOT of time thinking about this! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Dec 2003 18:23:38 -0000 From: "looloo" Subject: RE: seven-seas liverpool & london It was really good to meet you charles ...I'm always happier when i can put a face/person to the emails ... i always say the reason i enjoy the bunnygigs so much ..
