I saw them support Minuteman in Bristol last year. Not bad, if a bit formulaic. Apparently it was a co-headlining tour, and they were taking it turns to go on first. I'm glad they got to be support to Minuteman's headline on the Bristol date, because Minuteman were by far the better band. Lee Mavers was with them for a while but left.. mainly I think because the band didn't want to be regarded as " The La's Mk11"... They do have a La's/Cast feel about them, and their bassist also use a Telebass ( Hi Amy, remember that thread ? ).. Wylie's also a fan. There's definately a lot worse around... Hope this helps, Cheers, Stu Anders_Dvmstedt wrote: Anyone who`s heard Liverpool band The Crescent ? I saw the album at a sale, not heard anything . It was Ian Skelly (the drummer) who was quoting the Bunnymen in the recent Independent article. If Ian Skelly is namechecking the Bunnymen it's probably because he likes 'em. I'm sure not for any other reason. You're right about James Skelly, though. He hadn't heard much of the Bunnymen until about two years ago because he lent most of the Bunnymen stuff off of a mate around that time. He was particularly keen on hearing the Ian Broudie lps. To be 100% honest, I didn't check out your link, and you're right.. Not being a massive fan, I didn't realise that there are 2 bods with the same name in the band !! It's one of those strange things with me. They are like Travis in so much that I can't listen to a whole album without getting very bored after 2 or 3 tracks, but would pay well above ticket price to go see them live as they are a brilliant live act. I still rate The Zutons as the best of the new Liverpool bands though..
