Nothing came today so I rang wayahead. They assured me that if they don't arrive they'll make arrangements to have duplicates printed for collection at the Royal Court. What I do when I have to leave before the mail arrives and mine haven't arrived is....call and say you still haven't got yer tix and you're making the trek NOW and you need them to transfer your tix to 'will call'. They usually will do it. Andrew! ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Nov 2003 15:08:09 -0600 (CST) From: amyr@jump.net (Amy Moseley Rupp) Subject: Re: seven-seas-digest - tickets for l'pool There days tickets are really nothing more than one-time-use bar codes that are scanned at the entrance to a venue. Sometimes the whole thing is taken from you to prevent you handing your ticket to a friend through a gate, for example, but with the one-time use, your friend would be out of luck. That's why you can pay for your tickets, and download and PRINT them on your very own printer. Of course, some good fun could be had if someone managed to crack the encryption scheme for Ticketbastard tickets, but the joy ride wouldn't last long. I suspect y'all will move to that system at some point. You can still request that your tickets be sent to you or held at will call indefinitely. This isn't a perfect scheme, but it's as good as things have gotten. For example, if you buy a ticket off a tout, s/he can simply email you the bar coded image you need to print your ticket and you never have to meet face to face. Of course, that wouldn't prevent them from selling the same ticket to others, so first one to the gate would win. Even small ticket sellers for club gigs have moved to the "print yer own ticket" scheme. Same thing for movie tickets. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Nov 2003 09:31:07 +0100 From: =?iso-8859-1?Q?Anders_D=F6mstedt?= Subject: seven-seas OT : The Crescent Anyone who`s heard Liverpool band The Crescent ?
