I've already got iTunes for Windows so will investigate. Didn't realize it's got to be mp3. I did the same thing. iTunes will rip to .m4a format, unless you change something in its Preferences to indicate you want .mp3 (you can specify the bit rate). Someone I share music with is very picky about settings so the 320 kpbs .m4a format was not right (too big, and dependent upon iTunes to play) so I re-ripped to .mp3 192 kpbs. I adore iTunes. I have been fortunate to have it for the Mac and now and glad it's available for Windows. Of course, now Microsoft wants in on the action. I muttered "Bastards," when I read that in the morning paper. Lucky it was under my breath because my eldest daughter wanted to know what I'd said! ;-) Ivan and Matt are correct in that you can get Musicmatch to rip a *lot* faster than iTunes currently will, but I don't rip enough to really give a rip (ooooh, bad pun ;-)). ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Nov 2003 06:21:29 +0000 From: "Peter Burnand" Subject: seven-seas echo name check Bunnymen reference from Ian Skelly of The Coral... There are some bands which can make a personnel change, and some who can't. I'd call some of the bands that can't even *play* any longer *businesses*. REM isn't in that category. I suppose the difference may be that when the Beatles and the Bunnymen broke up, they were at the top of their game, and before there was a chance of all four getting back together, but especially in the latter case, a member was lost to death. And the bands called it quits at a relatively young age. ====================================== http://www.bunnymenlist.com ====================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Nov 2003 09:09:14 -0000 From: "shaz" Subject: Re: seven-seas just spoke to wayahead ...
